Contract delivery: 26 days. Actual: 18 days from drawing approval to hydro-test.<\/p>\n<h2>The constraint<\/h2>\n<p>The tank had to sit in a basement plant room with a 2.4 m door opening and a 3.1 m clear height \u2014 too low for a pre-assembled tank, too tight for a road crane during the day.<\/p>\n<h2>What we did<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Split the tank into two 250 m\u00b3 compartments<\/b> so each could be assembled independently and tested in sequence, allowing the fire main to be commissioned in stages.<\/li>\n<li><b>Redesigned panel logistics around the door.<\/b> Panels were palletised at 1,450 mm width and sequenced in reverse assembly order, so nothing had to be moved twice in a 40 m\u00b2 plant room.<\/li>\n<li><b>Shifted the crane work to the permitted window.<\/b> All 14 tonnes of panels and frame went in over two nights, four hours each.<\/li>\n<li><b>Pre-assembled the frame at ground level<\/b> in three modules that passed through the door as complete frames.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The numbers<\/h2>\n<p>500 m\u00b3 total capacity \u00b7 10 m \u00d7 5 m \u00d7 5 m overall \u00b7 12 mm SMC panels \u00b7 galvanized space frame with internal tie rods \u00b7 two compartments with interconnecting sluice valve \u00b7 hydro-tested at 1.5\u00d7 design head with zero seepage at any joint.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The assembly crew was in and out in six working days.
